KFF INDUSTRY: PROJECTS SELECTED TO DOCS TO START, DOCS TO GO AND CEDOC MARKET

The selection of the projects submitted to CEDOC Market from all over the world has just been completed as well as the final list of the participants of this year’s edition of DOC LAB POLAND. The projects which are taking part in the programme, will be presented at two pitching sessions Docs to Go and Docs to Start. This year’s 10th edition of these two events co-organised by the Wladyslaw Slesicki Film Foundation held at the KFF Industry during Krakow Film Festival, will take place again under the slogan DOC LAB POLAND & UKRAINE.

DOCS TO START AND DOCS TO GO 

22 projects are qualified to jubilee 10th edition of  DOC LAB POLAND,  the biggest in Poland program for development, consultation, presentation and promotion of documentary films. Among the films in development and post production stage which will take part in the second workshop session with the international tutors and experts in Krakow are new projects by the established and awarded filmmakers like Michał Bielawski, Maciej Kubicki and  Paweł Chorzępa.

DOC LAB POLAND is organised by the Wladyslaw Slesicki Film Foundation in the collaboration of  Krakow Film Festival and KFF Industry since 2015. As a results of the previous 9 edition are 190 developed and presented projects from among which 80 films have been already completed and awarded all over the world.  

The program is divided into two parts: START –  for projects in development, and GO – for projects at the editing stage. The tutor of this year’s edition are the outstanding international experts from the documentary film industry: Rada Šešić – head of documentary program at  Sarajevo FF and co-head of the Docu Rough Cut Boutique, Peter Jaeger – the founder of the one of the world’s leading sales agents for creative docs Autlook Filmsales and a consulting company – Jaeger Creative, Adriek van Nieuwenhuiyzen – head of the IDFA Industry, Guevara Namer – curator of the  DOK Co Pro Market at DOK Leipzig and  Ove Rishoj Jensen – for many years working for EDN, now head of the  FIPADOC  Industry Forum and his own consulting company – Paradiddle Pictures.

The authors of the projects will have an opportunity to present their works towards international film industry at two pitching sessions: Docs to Start i Docs to Go at the  KFF Industry in the end of May. Among the experts and decision makers who confirmed their attendance are the representatives of the biggest film festivals like:  IDFA (The Netherlands), FIPADOC (France), CPH:DOX (Denmark), Doclisboa (Portugal), Documentary Edge (New Zealand), RIDM (Canada), Hong Kong IFF, Docs Barcelona (Spain) Ji.hlava International Documentary FF (Czechia), Sundance FF (USA) or Visions du Reel (Switzerland) and sales agencies:Cat’n’Docs (France), Cinephil (Israel), Movies for Festivals (Spain),  Syndicado (Canada),  3Boxmedia International Sales (Germany), Fortissimo Films (The Netherlands), Film Delights (Austria) or New Docs (Germany). 

The directors and producers of the most interesting projects will have a chance to be awarded with one of the awards or special mentions granted by one of the partners: Canal+, Wroclaw Feature Film Studio, FINA, Fixafilm, MX35, Multilab – Krakow Technology Park, DOK Leipzig, IDFA, Institute of Documentary Film, FIPADOC and Polish Docs PRO.

CEDOC MARKET

This year’s 10th edition of the Central European Documentary Co-Production Market, the only documentary co-production market in Poland for producers who are looking for partners from Europe and around the world, will host 35 documentary films in development and 10 producers without projects. 

A record number of 100 documentary projects in development from all over the world were submitted this year among them the films from Poland, Ukraine, South Korea, Congo, Mexico, USA, UK, Israel, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Denmark, Norway, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, UK, Scotland, Ireland, and Romania.

KFF INDUSTRY 2024

KFF Industry is a part of Krakow Film Festival dedicated to film industry professionals. In 2024 KFF Industry will be held on-site. Filmmakers and producers of documentary, animated and short films will meet the experts, festivas and industry events programmers, sales agents, distributors, funds, TV, VOD and online platoform representatives and other international decision makers.
